The same here. 8 speed auto should be great.

What is everyone picking up? A six-speed manual or eight-speed auto?

I have noticed on the "anther ATS-V forum" that some cars have problems with manual transmission.
Notchy shifts into 1st, 2nd, 3rd when the car has been sitting a while is common.
I would go with 8sp auto because of these manual transmissions problems.

I will only post the "other" forums link when I get the admin OK.
There is more owners complaints about MT on the 'other ' forum.
"I like the car overall, I am just not in loved. I have the 6MT and it has an annoying mechanical buzz that goes away as soon as the clutch is engaged a little. Then sometimes there is a clunking sound when going into gear, specially 1st or 2nd. If I am not listening to the radio I begin to focus on these noises. Just the whole experience does not seem that polished."
